Over the last decade, with the rapid development of the national power and economy, the higher request is put forward about the network construction. Our countries vigorously develop infrastructure construction. Bridge is an important part of highway, railway and urban roads, so a large number of bridges are built. However small and medium-sized span Bridges is still widely used in road network construction. These Bridges has very big advantage.First, there is no special requirement about span, second from economic consideration will be more cost-effective, so many bridge also often use the small bridge as its approach span. The lost of small and medium-sized span Bridges are prefabricated. Considering the reliability and safety, it is significant for analyzing and calculating the transverse distribution coefficient in bridge design.Based on the theoretical of analysis, this paper summarizes the structural characteristics of the girder bridge and use traditional methods to calculate the horizontal distribution coefficient of midspan. The calculation method applicability and accuracy problems of transverse distribution theory are discussed by establishing finite element model based on actual situation and comparing and analyzing the results of two methods. Finally, this paper point out that different calculation method of transverse distribution coefficient is adopted in specific circumstance. Hinge-jointed plate and beam method and rigid-jointed beam method is explored deeply.Based on the theoretic of beam grid method, we build the stereo model of T beam in a loop expressway by finite element analysis software Midas and then get the transverse distribution coefficient of bridge with Hinge-jointed and rigid-jointed. Applying formula querying method to get the results under hinge-jointed plate and beam method and rigid-jointed beam method, we get two different values. By comparing the two results, contradiction is found. In order to get the reason, using analysis software Bridge Doctor, GQJS and beam grid method, we calculate the transverse distribution coefficient of 5-9 pieces T beams and plates. According to rigid-jointed beam method, calculation programs of lateral load distribution influence line are written and his transverse distribution coefficient is calculated. The transverse distribution coefficient of hinge-jointed plate and beam method calculated by all methods and procedure are the same. However, the transverse distribution coefficient of hinge-jointed plate and beam method calculated by all methods and procedure are greatly different. It is unreasonable to use hinge-jointed plate and beam method for rigid-jointed plate. It indicates that rigid-jointed plate method needs to be improved.
