Energy efficiency and environmental protection has become the theme of development in the era of fast economic development in China. The National "Twelve Five" Plan has put the development of alternative fuel powered vehicles as the most important item in Chinese automobile industry in next five years. The trend of the industry in the future is to conducting thorough research about alternative fuel powered vehicles, steadily moving forward the technological reform of the industry.This paper analyzed and researched the hub-motor powered electronic vehicles in the realm of electronic vehicles and explained their technical features and developmental status in detail. This paper also explored the design and scheme of A and proposed corresponding dynamic computational model based on their features and conducted preliminary calculation of its dynamics. Combining current research on vibration reduction of hub-motor, it also explained in technical detail the problem of the weight increase of unsprung after introducing hub-motor and proposed effective solution to this problem. Regarding braking scheme and braking energy recycling, this paper proposed to combine the state of the art mechanical and electronic braking systems to insure a safer and more effective start, deceleration and stop.Regarding the selection of propelling electronic engine in electronic vehicles, this paper first compare and contrast thoroughly the techniques, structure and performing features of DC,AC,BLDCM and switched reluctance motor and choose BLDCM as the engine of hub-motor EV. It propose to propel the vehicle by four BLDCM installed on wheels and use direct powering/propeling scheme of External rotor DC motor. Secondly, this paper explained the mechanical structure, mathematical model and performing features of hub-motor. Thirdly, regarding the control of BLDCM, it dissected the PID speed controlling technology and investigated the controlling method for torque ripple in running BLDCM. Later in this paper, it analyzed in great detail the realization of electronic differential, a common problem in the research and development of hub-motor EV.In the end, this paper conducted simulation and calculation using parameters of hub-motor and vehicle design as input data for the ADVISOR simulation software. Results of the simulation on vehicle mechanical dynamics were verified and basically meet the design objectives.This paper focused on the whole design of hub-motor EV and conducted thorough analysis and research on electronic engine choices and control, vehicle vibration and electronic differential.
