Rock has distinct heterogeneity that is well known which has complicated mechanical properties. The selection of rock mechanical properties in different states have difficult , and this problem has not still been fully solved as of today. Therefore, in this paper, on basis of laboratory tests and theoretical analysis, ultrasonic wave, strength and deformation properties of gneiss, marble, gritstone and limestone under dry and saturated states were investigated. First, physical parameters measurement on specimens under dry and saturated were carried out to study the changes of rock physical parameters. Then ultrasonic wave measurement on dry and saturated specimens to study the influence of saturation on acoustic properties of rock. Using the RMT-150B servo-controlled testing machine, uniaxial compress and Brazilian spilt test on specimens under dry and saturated states were carried out.Last,on account of test results, the relationship between dry specimens and saturated spicemens of ultrasonic wave, strength and deformation properties, influence of saturation on strength , deformation of disic and ring specimens were studied. And also the dispersion of disic and ring specimens under dry and saturated states, the reason and shape of rock specimens under dry and saturated were analyzed. All studies above show that the influence of saturation on physical parameters, ultrasonic wave, uniaxial compressive strength and Young modulus have a significant impact. The influence of saturation on tension strength of rock disc is weak, and inner diameter of disic specimens will increase, the sensitivity of split strength will become less obvious.
