In recent years, the wind generator have developed rapidly in the worldwide, but now horizontal-axis wind turbine(HAWT) have dominated the market share with a absolute advantages, the vertical-axis wind turbines(VAWT) develop relatively slowlyer, but it attracts more and more attention with its unique structure and excellent properties. This paper straight blade vertical axis wind turbines is studied.The correct analysis and accurately forecast of rotor load a is the key and foundation of the rotor structure design.Now the widespread method of the vertical axis rotor performance analysis is streamtube model based on the theory of Blade Element/Momentum.This people the double-multiple streamtube model is used to analyse the performance of the rotor,and makes analysis on the load of the rotor and its transform form.The VAWT's performance is affacted by many factors,such as tip speed ratio,leaf number,leaf chord length, high aspect ratio etc.In this paper analysis is made on the effact of all these factor on the rotor performance,besed on the results of the Matlab codes,all these works can provide theoretical basis for optimization design.The start-up and rated wind speed will make great effact on the structure and properties of the rotor,calculation is made on start-up and rated wind speed of a rotor applicable to the specific wind field use the Weibull's distribution function in this artical.Based on the calculation results of the rotor used Matlab codes, some design is made on the rotor blades,support bar, the connection of the blades and support bar.
