With the rapid expansion of urbanization and the mushroom of motor vehicle quantities, traffic congetion increasingly prominent, and traffic jams have seriously affected people's daily travel. To solve the problem of heavy traffic, now many large and medimu-sized cities of the world's contries is widely adopted advanced management system, such as SCOOT system,SCATS system, etc. But the operation of these advanced traffic management system requires a lot of traffic flow data which are got by embedded detector for intersection of urban road network. But considering the high cost of embedding detector and the too ambitious number of intersections and the expanding city sccale, it's unrealistic to embedded detector in each intersection. Therefore, in order to reduce investment, and meantime, traffic flow information of most or even all the intersections must be guaranteed, just need to embed selectively detectors in some important intersections to optimize the layout of fix-ponit detector in the road network, in order to use as few as detector resources to access to as much as possible traffic flow data and thus realize the purpose of reduce the facilities construction cost of traffic flow information collection. The study this paper does about the optimization layout of detectors distributed at different intersections is just based such a thought. The specific implementation method is to combine three methods of forecast of statistical analysis-clustering analysis, stepwise regression analysis and principal componement analysis together, and simultaneously, study the optimization method of detector layout uniting with practical data, and draw out the prediction model using which to predict the results, then compare the forecast result with the traffic flow that is actually collected and analyze the model, thus futher analyze the feasibility of this method. The solution of this problem can not only get the desired traffic flow data under the circumstance of trying to lower the cost, but also use the traffic flow data obtained to further strengthen the comprehensive management of urban road network and in turn, inducts effectively the traffic flow. The effective collection of traffic flow data is one of the keys that the intelligent transportantion system operates reliably. |
