Distribution Network Reconfiguration for Loss Reduction, elimination of feeder overload, load balancing, but also improve the voltage quality. Through analysis and comparison of various optimization algorithms and the conditions requiring the distribution network reconfiguration, the fusion of the genetic algorithm and ant colony algorithm is for distribution network reconfiguration fusion.The distribution network topology and power flow calculation has been simplified. By analyzing the various methods of flow calculation, node - branch incidence matrix forward and backward substitution method is used calculate power flow, the method for distribution network reconfiguration without re-numbered speed up the distribution network topology identification. The parallel computing of the power and voltage of can be achieved in the same layer. It is proposed that the approach to the ring distribution network based on the radial distribution network analysis.The paper proposed mathematical model.According to characteristics of distribution network with adaptive genetic algorithm and ant colony algorithm, how to implement distribution network reconfiguration with the genetic algorithm and ant colony algorithm fusion.Through using the adaptive control combined with the genetic algorithm, the crossover rate and mutation rate are adjusted adaptively to speed up the search speed of the algorithm, effectively avoid the premature convergence. Drawing into the chromosome and population similarity, genetic algorithm searching the optimal solution is end when the method is low efficiency. The ant colony algorithm will be used to more efficient of the optimal solution. Ant colony algorithm traverses through the breadth of the search travel distribution network, by generating minimum spanning tree to produce a solution. When ant colony algorithm update the pheromone ,distribution system introduced slip resistance. The simulation shows good results. Good to make up low efficiency of the genetic algorithm finding exact solutions.IEEE 69 node distribution system using the standard examples is done the normal operation of the power distribution network reconstruction to reduce network losses and to improve the distribution network voltage quality as the target. Simulation results show that the adaptive genetic algorithm and ant colony algorithm fusion applied to distribution network reconfiguration can effectively overcome low efficiency and premature early convergence of the genetic algorithm finding exact solutions, it overcomed the lack of initial pheromone, it solved the slow defects. Compared with other methods ,the paper's method have a high search efficiency and faster speed.
