| Shocked by miserable images from several large destructive earthquakes during the past decade, most people realized that the collapse of buildings plays the most important role for the death toll. After the Wenchuan Earthquake in 2008, the idea of'Constructing the Earthquake Safe Community'was pointed out in China. It can be stated in structural seismic design words that a newly constructed community, the buildings in which will not collapse under severe earthquake in stronger fortification intensity condition, is named of'Earthquake Safe Community'. There are several technological methods to realize that, such as design buildings in stronger fortification intensity condition, and adopting base-isolation, energy dissipation method thus the seismic capacity could be improved strikingly.In this thesis, considering of the feature of the buildings in a newly constructed community in Dalian, and basing on the concept of structural seismic design, we add a pattern of mild steel dampers in coupling beams in high-rise sheer-wall buildings. Optimized design, and nonlinear earthquake-response time-history analysis with the help of the software, ETABS and ABAQUS, is done to guarantee to achieve the former anti-seismic safety targets.Main efforts have been done as follows: ?1. The meaning of'Earthquake Safe Community'is stated, then the solutions to realize that are pointed out and analyzed. For the common high-rise type, shear-wall structures, adding soft-steel dampers in the coupling beams properly of upper half parts, which the story-drifts are much larger, can achieve the targets to improve the fortification intensity to 8 in the condition of increasing the money invested a little bit more and do not change the original construction drawing.2. A Pseudo-static test of mild-steel dampers is planed and finished in the structural laboratory of IEM in Beijing. The data and mechanical parameters, acquired in the test, do preparation to the attribution plan of dampers.3. Based on the buildings of a Dalian project, the mechanical features of the high-rise and their responds under earthquakes, the attribution plan of dampers is finished. In addition, in accordance with the size of the coupling beams in sheer-wall structures and shear-forces in the condition of moderate earthquake of intensity 7, the joints between structures and dampers are presented in detail. 4. Elastic-plastic finite element analysis is done using the finite element software ETABS and ABAQUS, to study the seismic behaviors in the condition of Chinese Code''sThree Levels'of fortification intensity( intensity 7) and intensity 8. Base on that, adjust the dampers'types, number and their locations, until the intensity and deformation satisfy the Chinese Codes requirements. Thus, the target of improving the seismic performance of one intensity more than fortification intensity when keeping the seismic design basing on the seismic precautionary intensity is achieved by adding proper dampers.?... |
