Countertendency layered rock slope is one which of layered side slope types in southwest of China water resources and hydropower engineering, railway engineering, its seismic response lawï¹  deformation failure mechanism are based on explaining the dynamic slope stability evaluation, revealing the slope failure mechanism ,verifing slope stability evaluation method. At present, the related research results are still at the start stage, is away from project practical needs. In this paper, the acceleration response of rock slope, law of deformation and failure mechanisms under strong earthquake are studied using the finite difference method and model test method. The obtained results could provide valuable proof for seismic design of similar slopes. The main works of this thesis are as follows:1. The advancement in related field of research is summarized and the contents of this thesis are introduced.2. The study on the influencing foctors of acceleration amplification effect of countertendency layered rock slopes are carried on, and seismic response laws of countertendency layered rock slopes are summarized.3. The study on the influencing foctors of deformation failure mechanism of countertendency layered rock slopes are carried on, and seismic deformation failure mechanism of countertendency layered rock slopes are provided.4. Using rock similar material to simulate the layered rock pieces, the shaking table test of countertendency layered rock slope is carried on under graded loading step by step. The seismic response, failure mode and mechanisms of countertendency layered rock are analyzed.
