With the rapid development of highway in China, more and more highway tunnels have been built. Neighborhood Tunnel, as a new form of tunnel structure, has been widely applied because of its special advantage. However, there are many essential problems to be solved in designing and construction. Analysis of the rock stability during the construction process of neighborhood tunnel is one of the most important parts in the protection of the safety of tunnel construction. Geological prediction, monitoring and measurement as safety, optimal design and guide the construction of the important means to reduce the risk of tunnel construction is important. Based on the relevant literatures at home and abroad and relying on the pingzitou tunnel project, the application of geological prediction, monitoring and measurement methods in keeping the stability of rock during the neighborhood tunnel construction have been studied. The main contents and results are as follow:(1) Elements affecting the rock stability before neighborhood tunnel construction and the advantages and disadvantages of existing geological prediction methods have been analyzed, proper geological prediction methods have been chose to make a forecasting scheme, and applied in the construction of pingzitou tunnel.(2) Methods of monitoring and measurement of rock stability have been studied, and the monitoring schemes of pingzitou tunnel have been designed. The discipline of rock stability of pingzitou tunnel has been summarized by analyzing the monitoring data.(3) The key factors about small interval tunnel construction mechanics were combined in different ways to be simulated and analyzed through the finite element numerical analysis method, by which, it is concluded that tunnel depth, small interval and surrounding rock grade have influence on the stability of surrounding rock of the small interval tunnel.(4) According to affect small interval tunnel stable unfavorable factors, put forward the construction process ensure construction safety control measures.
