Saline soil is a kind of special soil, which has crystallization salt in solid phase and salt solution in its liquid phase. During the environmental condition change, migration and accumulation of the salt and crystallization process alternated with dissolving,which makes saline soil with unique deformation and strength, which could influence engineering construction with various extent. Strong saline soil was widely distributed along Chaerhan-Geermu expressway. As saline soil with particular engineering properties, how to effectively deal with the foundation of saline soil, improve the foundation bearing capacity, reduce the settlement of post-construction roadbed and ensure the long-term stability of the expressway are the critical technical problems to be solved in Chaerhan-Geermu expressway construction. Based on Chaerhan-Geermu expressway ground treatment testing project, the technology of strong saline soil ground treatment is studied systemically.The main research contents and conclusions as follows:1. Through the laboratory test, the regularity of physical and mechanical properties of strong saline soil is analyzed. The text results show that:saline soil types are complicated along Cha-Ge highway, most of which is low liquid limit, low compressibility, chloride strong and after saline soil. Most of soil is powder soil, some sections soil with a few low liquid limit silty clay.2. The construction craft of the gravel column of vibration diving casting and compaction replacement is studied. The problems involving pile (pier) body density is insufficient, the foundation bearing capacity is low and gravel pile next makings impeded are solved. The construction craft which suits for ground treatment of saline soil soft ground is put forward.3. Through the onsite tests, the treatment effect of ground treatment is studied. The ground treatment methods involve the gravel column of vibration diving casting, dynamic consolidation method, compaction replacement, impact crushes, table stone in such stuff, gravel soil for filling and so on. The applicability of six kinds of processing methods is evaluated. Engineering practice shows that the above six foundation treatment methods are feasible in technology, which meets the requirement and has high application value in saline soil area.
