As the most basic testing equipment of spectroscopy and spectrum technology, spectrometer plays important roles in the fields of remote sensing and optical instruments. Due to the request of experimental teaching, a multi-function grating spectrometer is designed on the basis of deeply analysis of the construction and principle of spectrometer, which combines CCD and PMT. In the whole, the project can be divided in two parts, the first part is circuit design and the debugging, and the second part is complied the operation interface.The first part: the light source system is designed, which can be used to measure the spectral, and the voltage stabilizing circuits of deuterium lamp and halogen tungsten lamp are very important. A high-speed data acquisition and real-time processing system for linear CCD and PMT based on single chip is introduced, which is composed of single chip processor, high-speed A/D converter, DMA controlled circuit, RAM memory and so on. With the way of DMA block move and adopting high-sped A/D AD1674JN it realizes high-speed data acquisition. The principles of system working, hardware circuit, logic of controlling are described in detail. The drive circuit of liner CCD (TCD1206SUP) is finished, the design of signal process circuits (CCD and PMT). The second part: Adopted modular design method, new spectrometer software is designed in language VB 6.0. It mainly involves spectrum curve capturing, data saving, files saving, wavelength correcting and parameter setting. The software includes friendly interface, functionally complete menu, so operating very expediently and easily.The spectrometer has two kinds of measurement range, the CCD can measure the spectrum wave from 300 nm~600 nm, and the photomultiplier (PMT) can measure the spectrum wave from 200 nm~660 nm. Controlling a Step Motor that cooperating with a deceleration system, and using the C-T optical system, in theory, moving 0.01 nm can catch a spectral pulse, the resolution can reach 0.06 nm.
