The structure of the cold-formed steel has many advantages. For example, high strength, light weight, flexible shape, better seismic performance, simple installation, short period and so on. The cold-formed steel structure formed a industrial production has been widely used for the lower house and villas. The important part of the cold-formed steel is node, which is the core of the structural transmission system. Research on the seismic performance of ridge joint with cold-formed steel C-section has some practical significance.First, the seismic performance of ridge joint with cold-formed steel C section was researched. The author considered the bolt spacing and gusset plate thickness two factors. On the basis of the lower cycle loading test, this paper study the ultimate bearing capacity, bearing capacity degradation, node deformation, joint stiffness degradation, ductility, energy dissipation capacity and other relevant hands of the ridge joint. Working out the conclusion about stress and strain distributed situation of the ridge node, with the different of the bolt spacing and gusset plate thickness, the performance of ridge node has been affected. The author obtain six specimens'load-displacement hysteresis curve, envelope curves of hysteretic curves, stiffness degradation curve and so on. The results is that bearing capacity increase with the increase of bolt spacing and gusset plate thickness, significant degradation of stiffness is present, the six components has well energy dissipation capacity and other indexes such as ductility is similar to the general cold-formed steel nodes..Second, this paper uses finite element analysis software ABAQUS for the cold-formed steel ridge joint of the simulation node and set up a total of six tree-dimensional parameter finite element ridge node models. The author make a series of work, for instance, making the elements, definition material feature, creation geometric model, imposed the boundary conditions, the coupling processing of high-strength bolts connecting, loading system and so on. The results of finite element are consistent with the experimental results.
