Energy source and environment become the major problem all over the world. As a result, the requirements of improving the life of the villagers as well as saving the energy in the building were presented in the "11th Five-Year Plan". Nowadays, the energy structure lags behind in villages, resulting in energy waste and serious environmental pollution problems, thus, to find a cheap and abundant renewable energy for the heating and cooling problem in rural areas is a promising way. The geothermal energy is one kind of natural,pollution-free,rich reserves new energy. The demonstration project is supported by a Eleventh Five-Year Project, , which is the Sub-project of (item number: 2006BAJ04B04).This project has designed a well and underground water direct cooling system in summer for an office building in Jinghai County, Tianjin City, and combined this system to the ground source heat pump system. While the building cooling load is low in summer or transitional season, the underground well water can be used as the cold source; when the cooling load is large, heat pump is added as a supplement. In winter, the well water is used as the heat source of the heat pump. The underground water direct cooling technology is energy-saving,economic,and environmental friendly, and it can help to reduce electricity consumption and alleviate demand on electricity in the rush hours. Meanwhile, the integration with ground source heat pump can keep the balance of hot and cold energy in underground temperature field, and also helps to extend its service life.Firstly, the air conditioning system was designed, and the operating condition was tested. The parameters, such as air flow, air temperature, water flow, water temperature, electricity consuming, temperature of the room and so on, were tested and the coefficient of performance of the system was analyzed in order to evaluate its economic effect, stability and energy conservation. Optimization is also based on the tested performance.
