The converter in the doubly-fed wind conversion system only has handle no more than 1/3 rated power to meet speed adjustment requirements, which brings a low cost. With corresponding control schemes, it can also achieve both maximum power point tracking and independent control of the active and reactive power, which is of benefit to the stability of the grid. For above reasons, doubly-fed induction generator wind energy conversion system has a wide application in wind energy conversion. This paper mainly focuses on the control scheme of dual PWM converter, which is the key component of the doubly-fed wind conversion system. The function and operation target of both the grid-side converter and the rotor-side converter are described at first. Then the grid voltage oriented control scheme of the grid side converter and the stator voltage oriented control scheme of the doubly-fed induction generator based on their mathematical models are given respectively. The vector control system based on PI controllers has the disadvantage in the complexity of the inner current loop and the implement of low order harmonic compensation so the PR controller which can archive zero steady state error for sine input is introduced and applied to the gird and the rotor side converter vector control system. The proposed control strategy has a simplified structure and is easy for low order harmonic compensation. At last, simulation and experiment of the proposed control strategy were carried out. The results verify the validities of the proposed strategy.
