High-Voltage Direct-Current (HVDC) Tr ansmission, due to its unparalleled advantages in long-distance power transm ission, non-synchronous internet and sea power, is more and more widely used in the power system. The control system of DC transmission system is very com plicated and important. Security and stability of DC transmission system mostly depend on its control system.When the power system suffer large disturbance, the AC voltage of rectifier side and inverter side m ay be greatly change d. The contro l system of DC transm ission system is very com plicated, its control characteristics based on different AC voltage distribution lead to dif ferent changes, and this feature m akes the control characteristics of DC transm ission system in electrom echanical trans ient s tability simulation of power system extremely com plicated. Therefore, the res earch on DC system control ch aracteristics can promote the developm ent of electromechanical transient stability simulation.This paper presents a new m ethod for calculating the control characteristics analysis of DC transm ission system. The aim is to m ake the results of calculations closer to the actual characteristics of HVDC system. The program analyzes the range of constant power control in various dist ribution of the AC voltage on both sides of DC transmission system. In addition, the pr ogram can calculate the optimal value of the transmission power when the value cannot meet the constant power control. S o, we can obtain the significant data used in the c alculation of DC control system in electromechanical transient stabilit y sim ulation, which includes DC current I d, rectifier firing angle ? and inverter extinction angle ? . This paper com pletes th e electromechanical transient stability simulation in an actual case by using the method for calculating the control characteristics analysis of DC transmission system, so as to validate the method analyzing the DC transmission system control characteristics. The method is designed to provide accurate DC control system data for electromechanical transient stability sim ulation, in order to reflect th e regulative influence of DC transmission system in electromechanical transient stability simulation.
