Nearshore hydrodynamic environment is the great factor which directly affect the coastal zone and port structures, and it is one of the key research contents in the coastal zone and offshore engineerings. Nearshore hydrodynamic factors contain tidal current, tide, wave and sediment transportation etc. In many research methods, mathematical model is the most economy and convenient one to study the complicated hydrodynamic environment of coastal zones, and it is one of main methods to the changing hydrodynamic factors in large scale. The main goal of this paper is to make use of ADCIRC in SMS to establish a suitable two-dimensional tidal current numerical model in Bohai Sea, and the model is adopted to solve the problems in a practical project of Bohai Sea; BOUSS-2D in SMS is also adopted to establish a two-dimensional wave numerical model for one breakwater in Dapengao bay, the feasibility of the project is analyzed according to the result. The main contents include the following three parts:(1) The numerical simulations of coastal engineering is described, and the common numerical simulation software in coastal engineering is introduced.(2) ADCIRC in SMS is seleected to establish a two-dimensional tidal current numerical model in Bohai Sea, tidal level, velocity and flow direction are all verified on the basis of the field measurement data, which show good verification results. It can be shown that it is reliable to establish the two-dimensional tidal current numerical model that can reflect practice clearly.(3) BOUSS-2D is introduced, and the two-dimensional wave mathematical model in Dapengao bay engineering area is established. The berthing and berthing stability in engineering areas are analyzed on the basis of the simulation the wave parameters in offshore area.
