Currently, Beijing is in quick progress. Urban open space has been spreading rapidly; however, environmental quality has not been improved. As the framework of urban space, streets embody the severe problem of integration degree of open space. In the thesis, Chengfu Road is chosen as a typical example of streets in Beijing, and integration degree of street open space will be discussed. Based on the theme, three standards in qualitative analysis are put forwards: morphological continuity, road accessibility and street territoriality. In the first part, through the analysis in time and space, the relationship between Chengfu Road and the city is under discussion. The following portion focuses on the interior of the Chengfu Road open space system. Given the quo status of different spatial elements, the integration degree of Chengfu Road open space is evaluated according to the three qualitative standards mentioned above. Conclusions are drawn based on the analysis: the integration degree of Chengfu Road is comparatively low; concretely speaking, randomness in morphology is severe; accessibility in road network is weak; territoriality in street is lacking. In the end, the causes of the integration problem are discussed. Based on the causes, three design principals are raised for the improvement of open space in the street. Finally, concrete design suggestions in improving the open space of Chengfu Road are proposed.
