As Three Gorges Project has been built and been gradually running, the effecton ecosystem and environment of the Poyang lake caused extensive concern. Theanalysis of hydrologic information of the bottomland of Poyang lake is the foundationfor flood control and ecological environment protection in this area. At present,scholars both at home and abroad research the hydrologic information of thebottomland of Poyang lake commonly using correlation analysis of the sites in thearea and the theoretical reasoning method, or creating one-dimensional conceptualmodel. But these can not quantitatively analysis the change process of the hydrologicinformation. In order to assess and research the effection of Three Gorges Project afterits built and during the running period for Poyang lake, on the basis of the observationdata of the hydrologic station, selected typical hydrologic year, and preliminarycalculus analysis of the effection is adopted in this paper. The 2d hydrodynamic modelof the bottomland of Poyang lake is built using InfoWorks RS to simulate the processof change of the hydrologic information. Through simulation, the changing processcan be demonstrated dynamically, and the time and area of different elevations of thebottomland exposed can be quantitatively calculated. Poyang lake goes into theChangjiang river by river way at Hukou, in the 2d hydrodynamic model, change theboundary conditions of Hukou can simulate the changing process of the hydrologicinformation. Based on the 2d hydrodynamic model in InfoWorks RS, the formulationof comprehensive management for Poyang lake can be scientific, and the adverseeffection of the water conservancy project after built and during its running period canbe remitted or even eliminated, and its beneficial effects would be given full play. Notonly it has important meaning to protect and improve the ecological environment ofthe wetland of Poyang lake, but also it can promote the development of the ecologicaleconomic and social development in this area.
