Traditional microwave staring imaging, of which the lateral resolution is limited by antenna aperture size, can only be used in low resolution condition. SAR and ISAR can get high lateral resolution, but are dependent on the relative motion between radar and target. It's necessary to explore a method for high resolution of staring imaging. A new microwave staring imaging based on spatial-temporal random radiation field is studied in this dissertation. High spatial resolution is preliminarily obtained in this method, which is beyond the restriction of antenna aperture in theory.Firstly, the basic principle of this microwave staring imaging based on spatial-temporal random radiation field is studied. The precondition of high resolution microwave staring imaging is given. The method of target information acquisition and decoupling in this imaging is analyzed.Secondly, the imaging process of this microwave staring imaging based on spatial-temporal random radiation field is discussed in detail. The imaging model is built, which includes signal generation, radiation, scatter, receiving and correlated processing. The relevant signal changes in the imaging process are deeply analyzed. The spatial-temporal random radiation is established in two processes: (1) the relationship between spatial-temporal random aperture field and radiation source is derived; (2) the mathematical model of spatial-temporal random radiation field is deduced by the space propagation of aperture field. The scatter field of the spatial-temporal random radiation field is derived. Microwave intensity correlation, which is used for target information acquisition and decoupling in this imaging process, is proposed.Lastly, characteristic of random radiation source in this microwave staring imaging based on spatial-temporal random radiation is studied. The spatial-temporal random property is discussed detailedly when the radiation source is ideal random or band-limited signal. The influence of the spatial configuration of radiation source (number and aperture of radiation source) on spatial-temporal random characteristic is analyzed. The influence of radiation source parameters on this microwave staring imaging based on spatial-temporal random radiation field is deduced from the view of whole imaging process.
