Riveting is one of the main types of mechanical connection in aircraft manufacturing. It has a great effect on reliability and security of airplane. Therefore, research on the fatigue life of aeronautical riveted joint has important engineering significance.In this paper, sufficient experimental works and comprehensive theoretical studies are performed. The relevant achievements can be divided into following four parts.(1)Study of Fatigue Life of Riveted Joint Based on Fatigue Test. In this part, structure and material property of specimen of riveting is introduced, static and fatigue test is carried on and collapse mode of specimen is summarized. Then, testing data promotes S-N line fitting of manual specimen, and study of influence of hole diameter and riveting pressure on fatigue life of riveted joint is completed by comparing performence of difference groups of specimen. Several significative conclusions are summarized for aircraft manufacturing.(2)Fatigue Life Calculation of Riveted Joint In this part, relational theory of fatigue life calculation is introduced first, then, calculation of riveted joint has been proceeded after selecting a suitable method, whose result is really referential.(3)Fatigue Simulation of Riveted Joint Based on Workbench. In this part, normal process of simulation of riveting with workbench is described. And result of simulation shows that there is almost no difference between simulation and fatigue test on the location of fatigue fracture and little difference on fatigue life. Simulation can take the place of fatigue test in some special state.(4)Data Analysis Software Designed by GUI of MATLAB. In the last part, data analysis software is designed by MATLAB GUI whose development environment is introduced. The data analysis of fatigue life of riveted joint could be established automatically by inputting the mean of life according to fatigue test or simulation in this software. Through this way, study would be more efficiency.
