With the development of building design and construction technology, steel-concrete composite floor have been increasingly used in high-rise building structures. At the same time, as the requests of residents for living space become more diverse, in order to facilitate the freedom space, distribution of less wall and long-span become more and more popular, this trend causes floor becomes more sensitive to smaller loads such as walking. Floor will produce vertical vibration induced by human activities, vibration exceeds certain limit will cause the user's anxiety and psychological panic. When serviceability problems occurred in the existed floor system, the technology is very difficult after the repair, the repairment of cost is very large and high degree of technology difficulty. Therefore, floor design should also take full account of serviceability except the strength and deformation requirements.This paper mainly discusses vibration serviceability of steel -concrete composite floor under walking. To address this problem, the main work and obtain conclusions of this paper are summarized as follows: Investigate foreign norms and provisions that used currently about serviceability of floor system, summarize evaluation index and the corresponding limits in foreign norms, Further analysis and compare evaluation methods ,find the advantages and disadvantages of each evaluation method, put forward peak acceleration as evaluation criteria on floor vibration serviceability .Using software Midas/GEN to establish the floor vibration model of composite slabs, simulate the response of floor caused by walking in different situations, analyze different factors how affect response of floor vibration, such as a person walking, people walking, different damping ratio, different spans, different thickness, different high beams. Though analysis many factors can affect response of floor vibration, stiffness,damping ratio and quality are the main factors. On the basis of existing calculation methods at home and abroad for composite slab, propose practical calculation methods of floor vibration and comparative analysis of various calculation methods, and carried out numerical examples and analysis. Peak acceleration recommended by AISC is a more practical method.
