| In actual operation of the 110kV transmission lines of oil field, the main factor causing the operational failure of lines is lightning. As many factors, the effect of the traditional methods of lightning protection are all not ideal. In this paper a new type of lightning protective gap is designed, and its effect can be proved to be the standard we need.The new type of protective gap is designed based on theory of insulation coordination in power system; its structure is simple and can be conveniently maintained. This device can be installed on both sides of insulator chain to protect the insulator chain. When the lines is struck by lightning, the gap can strike the arc and flashover before the insulator chain to prevent the insulator chain from being burned up; It also has the use of voltage-sharing, can improve the distribute of the voltage on the insulator chain to reduce the possibility of the producing of electric corona.For the installation scheme of protective gap, the reliable can be evaluated scientifically by ATP-EMTP, not as usual that the installation scheme would be determined only by the operation experience and data of the lines. The influence of several factors such as the position of lightning, volt-second characteristic and lightning flashover should be combined, safety and economy should be fully considered, and then the placing density can be determined. |
