Stepping motor is an implementing mechanism which are wildly used.Stepping motor drive is the indispensable device that can convert the controlling motor's pluse signal into the stepping motor's angular displacement signal.So we can control the stepping motor angular displacement,velocity and acceleration by controlling rhe number and frequency of pulses.Thus the running of stepping motor and the function of stepping motor drive are closely related.Conventional stepper motor drive primarily exists vibration, noise, and the phenomenon of lost-steps.With the development of the power electronic devices and high-speed microprocessors, stepper motor control technology towards the digital, intelligent, universal direction.In the digital control scheme, the microcontroller and the DSP has been dominant. In recent years,with the emergence and rapid development of ARM, high cost-effective ARM chips which in high-speed real-time processing capability, abundant resources and user-friendly on-chip embedded software has obvious advantages.This paper based on the studies of hybrid stepping motor subdivision control technology ,and then designed a two / three-phase hybrid stepping motor drive system, which used embedded ARM controller (LPC2478) and the power module as the core. This paper including hardware design, software implementation and performance test.Firstly,this dissertation analyzes the structure and working principle of the three-phase hybrid stepping motor and establishes an ideal model by ignoring some non-linear factors.Then it analyzes the operateing performance of the hybrid stepping motor,the function and the necessity of subdivision control,the utilize of the pulse-width modulation(PWM) technology.Eventually a speed of open-loop control scheme is selected by comparing number of options.Then the dissertation gives detailed introduction of the driver controlling system as well as the hardware and sofeware of the system.It also shows the structure of the hardware and the program flow chart of the system.Experiments shows that this system can reduce low-speed vibration and noise of hybrid stepping motor which can also run smoothl.This system has a good performance when used in a CNC Platform.
