Human being has been studying the urban space theory research for a long time, scholars from various countries have analyzed from different perspective and got rich research result. Development and changes in urban space is a continuous and complex process. Since ancient times, the urban environment landscape, economical technology, social concept as well as the cultural psychology and so on, are a vital factor in urban development and will have far-reaching impact to the urban plan construction within longer period. France renowned geographer Philippe Pinchemel had this description: the urban phenomenon is the reality which very difficult to define. The city is not only one kind of landscape, an economic space, a population density, but also a center of life and labor centers, more specifically; it may be an atmosphere, a feature or a soul. This is a classic interpretation of urban space.City is the symbol of human modern civilization. Civilized arrival of industry, the course of urbanization aggravating and city scale expansion, those change affect human life style as well as the livelihood ecological environment and the material environment quietly, the urban question is also following. In view of this, many cities in the world are trying to rebuild a good city image, and take it as one of urban sustainable development resources. Under the culture global tendency, the modern city competition is the cultural competition in substance. As Vidal de la Blache once said each region is a badge that reflecting the local nationality . The culture, which can maintain the modern city survival development, is the vitality of the international competition. Therefore, construct good ecological environment for cities and respect the region culture is the inevitable trend of urban development.Based on the contemporary urban space transformation ,planning issues and trends, this paper adopts cultural ecology, which established by American cultural anthropology new chemical famous scholar Julian Steward, as the theoretical starting point, apply the integrated cross-disciplinary theory that about the interrelationship between human culture and the environment to analyze the formation of urban spatial development. The article first carries on the brief summary to the cultural ecology and the urban space's research current situation, put forward that the cultural ecology introduces to the urban space is the development turning point for contemporary urban. Stands in the new theoretical level, combs the clue from the social culture psychology's development, analyzes the research content and the evolutionary process of urban ecosystem,clarify urban culture ecosystem theoretical system. Afterward, through analyze the Qingdao city's example, demonstrate theoretical system of urban cultural ecosystem,explain the urban culture ecological environment, culture and evolution of ecosystems, urban space and cultural eco-system resources, as well as urban space culture evolution process influenced by alien cultural in turn , in order to straighten out a more reasonable understanding of the history of urban space and cultural evolution of process. And take this as evidence, further propose the contemporary city space development tendency and the protection development strategy.
