The flexible cable is a unique type of engineering structure. Due to its reasonable force, material frugality, light weight, long span, ease of operation and molding design characteristics, flexible cable structure has been widely used in the high-voltage transmission lines, overhead cable, and cable-stayed bridge, suspension bridge, cable suspended roof and other projects,which is in the field of civil engineering . As a "flexible" structure, flexible cable structure under load is to produce a larger displacement, so nonlinear geometrical problems must be taken into account in the calculation. It formed the characteristics of the analysis theory of flexible cable structures , and also increased the difficulty of calculation. At present, nonlinear finite element method and analytical methods including the "parabola theory", "catenary theory" and so on, are the main methods for nonlinear analysis of cable structure . Analytical method is generally described according to the Euler coordinate system and using Newton-Raphson iterative algorithm, the computation is very cumbersome. The mechanical properties of single cable is a flexible cable structures based on nonlinear analysis and design. This paper applied the analytical method to analyze a single flexible cable and a sinplified single flexible cables static performance. First, various methods of solution flexible cable are analyzed and compared by extensive literature . It remains to study deeply that the finite element method in the rationality of various types of cable element and its accuracy . At present, various analytical analysis are different levels of geometric nonlinearity for a simplified approximation, a general sense there is no exact analytical method. Secondly, according to continuum mechanics theory of nonlinear deformation geometry description method and material (or Lagrangian description of method), the flexible cable of the basic equation is Established considering the dead weight and the influence of temperature. The analytical solution, which is an exact analytical solution, is obtained of the displacement and the tension of flexible cable . Then, the analytical analysis of this subject to concentrated loads applied to the elevated transport cable and flexible cable consisting of a number of root structure cable net .Considering the structure of the flexible cable design calculations, the transcendental equations must be done repeatedly, as efficient algorithm is the key of its application in practical projects.The calculations are to be easy to avoid the iterative Newton-Raphson method of calculation . In this paper, application of transcendental equations to correct the MJD Powell's hybrid algorithm procedures for the preparation of high-precision DNEQNF solved directly. Examples show that the method of high precision, fast calculation, can meet the requirements of engineering practice.
