Nowadays the axial compressor demands on lower weight and smaller dimension, what requires the higher single-stage load and pressure ratio. The proposed and application of the concept that the low-reaction boundary layer suction axial compressor supplies more effective methods to realize the object. The investigation of the aspirated compressor shows that the adoption of boundary layer suction technology can highly increase the compressor cascade loading and the capability of pressure diffusion, and it is the new compressor designing method with vast development foreground. The low-reaction axial compressor with the suction structure was investigated in the present paper. The suction structure concludes the suction slot and chamber, the suction slot located in the suction surface and the hub near the suction side of the stator blade, and the stator has large turning angle. The aerodynamic parameters of the inlet and outlet section of the tested cascade were measured with the five-hole probe, and the effect of the boundary layer suction with different suction modes on compressor aerodynamic characteristics were also studied. The distribution of various aerodynamic parameters at tested sections and the characteristic line were detailed studied. The test results showed that the boundary layer suction would decrease the strength and scale of the passage vortex to some extent, and would postpone the trend and reduce the intensity of flow separation, also could decrease the accumulation of low energy fluid near the suction corner, abate the effect of flow choke, therefore the flow loss was reduced and the diffusion capability was recovered. As a result, the overall performance of the compressor was promoted. In this dissertation, the effects of various suction modes were comparative analyzed. The suction modes included hub suction, suction side suction and no suction. The investigation indicated that all suction modes could reduce the total pressure loss, but single suction mode couldn't decrease flow separation primely, the compounding suction mode could control the 3D separation flow in the stator cascade better.
