With the rapid development of the domestic power industry and setting up large power plants, steam turbine capacity is also increasing, the design of the turbine industry and processing capacity have a higher requirements. Round groove processing technology is one of the key technologies in the steam turbine rotor processing, its processing cutting tools directly affect the processing efficiency, processing quality and processing costs of the groove.In response, this paper Studys the optimal design of the turbine fir tree groove broach and design of a complete broaches design system and the strength of analysis of wheel cutter.First, according to material machinability, select the appropriate broach material, after analysis for technique and total margin requirements , according to the principles of rough broaches efficient, precision broaches high-quality, set margin method and the distribution. On this basis, integrating workpiece material, the characteristics and groove surface to determine the geometrical parameters of broaches, complete broaches design. Second, pulling broach design process as a basis for programming, following software engineering principles and methods, designed entire design programs of a broach CAD system. With Visual Basic 6.0 as a development platform, using technology, and modular programming method, developed broach design system. Finally, on the strength analysis of the tool, using UG and ANSYS as a solid model and finite element analysis software platform, through the creation of geometric entities cutter wheel model, finite element model, then completed the analysis of tool mechanical stress and thermal stress distribution,and find the strength of the weakest, most vulnerable area,thus provide a theoretical basis in the most convenient and quickest way,for optimize the structure for the tool design, reasonable allocation the amount of cutting and selection, manufacturing processes.This article describes the optimal design for broach which can improve turbine disk serration processing quality. Application of ANSYS to simulate the strength of the analysis tools can accurately grasp the tools every points situation, to understand the internal stress distribution , to obtain the stress distribution and easily find the tool point easy to damage the danger. Using Broach design system improve design efficiency and quality, shorten production preparation period and save the design of human resource consumption.
