The leakage of water supply network, a common problem at home and abroad in the water supply domain, not only wastes valuable water resources, but also causes huge economic losses, therefore, it is of great significance to diminish and dominate the leakage of water supply network . More precisely, the fixed and quantitative leakage is a momentous link in the researching and managing process. The paper adopts the numerical simulation method focusing on water supply network leakage locations and leakage volumn based on the inverse problem analysis of hydraulic transient flow which is developed in recent years under the condition that there exist plenty of domestic and overseas leakage detection technologies and equipments. The essence of this theory is to solve the inverse problem of system identification and to identify parameters. Specifically, the first step is to set leakage coefficient as the system parameter which is to be identified, and then to give incentives, response and the transfer mode between them. Subsequently, it is into the procedure of establishing the analysis model of inverse problem, calculating Jacobian matrix while ultilizing the characteristics method and minimizing the deviation between pressure measurement values and calculated values with Newton - Raphson algorithm and solving the model.Based on hydraulic transient flow theory, system identification theory and inverse problem analysis, the topic presents the comprehensively experimental platform of city municipal pipeline leakage detection. As the system model of water supply pipe network, the experiment platform selects leakage as its identified parameter and establishes system identification model of motivating respond. The experiment produces motivation in the end of the pipe with hydraulic transient generator, obtains the pressure response curves of monitoring points and applies the inverse problem analysis of leakage detection and solves parameters to be identified, that is, leakage coefficient. Meanwhile, the experimental results analyse the process of two operation modes of single tube and pipe network with and without leakage. What's more, it analyses different pipe pressure, leakage location as well as leakage volume and the varied regulation of transient motivations upon pressure response of pipelines under different operation conditions. The topic also detects the inverse problem analysis models of single tube and pipe network while regarding experimental data as pressure measurement values and implements the sensitivity analysis on pipe nodes. Consequently, the analysis of inverse problems accurately solve the location of leakage points in single tube and network models.Computer data acquisition is applied in the experiment, computer program is simultaneously adopt in the course of inverse problem analysis, which makes the topic possess expansive application space and is conductive to practical engineering.
