As an overload protective device on the crane, moment limiter provides very important safe guard for the safety work of crane..Aiming at the situation that now the moment limiter on the port crane is single function and poor adaptability, this paper study the overall program of the moment limiter on the port crane.It's based on the efficient experience learnt through the in-depth comparison and analysis of domestic and foreign moment limites.The paper adopts the control method of digital simulation taking MCU 80C31 as the core.It has designed and done detailed argumentation on the systematic hardware and software,including in the circuits and parameters of the before passway,the minimum system and its periphery expand,the watchdog,etc.The software function of the moment limiter has been designed and in order to improve the systematic anti-interference,the corresponding measure was taken in.In this paper, the idea of separating the main control unit of system and the display units is proposed and 8255 is choosed as the display controller.4-coding Liguid Crystal Display which can provide simple interface and high reliability is applied,so that the parameters of the working conditions of crane can be displayed in time.Data transmission between the main control unit and the display one is supported by the communication protocol that is developed by the paper.The distinctive system solutions can enhance the generation and the function of the moment limiter,and make the maintenance of system more convenient.The system has been running well and the presumed functions have been conducted successfully.
