With the advent of ideas of energy saving and environmental protection and the development of lithium-ion battery technology, Lithium-ion battery-powered electric vehicle has aroused much more attention. However, the battery and battery management, in particular the lack of capacity balance when lithium-ion batteries used in series, significantly restrict the development of electric vehicles and limit their widespread application. Therefore, the balance circuit must be added to the battery management system. Especially for expensive high-capacity lithium-ion battery pack, effective and reliable balanced strategy and balanced circuits are more necessary. As a result, deep study of balanced circuits for lithium-ion battery pack has profound and lasting significance. The main task of this paper is to focus on the development and design of a balanced circuit for lithium-ion battery pack used in electric vehicles.Firstly, a brief introduction to the background of the subject is given in this article, which explains the significance of the equilibrium and the domestic and foreign development of balanced technology. Secondly, the hardware design of the Energy Storage Inductors based dynamic two-way lossless balanced circuit is introduced, which explains the function, structure and hardware design of each module in the circuit. Based on the above design, a lithium-ion battery equivalent circuit model, which is appropriate for the balanced circuit simulation is established. The balanced simulation circuit is built by Simulink SDK under Matlab environment, which provides the simulation results and corresponding instructions so as to verify the feasibility of this program.In the end, the software development of balanced circuit is also put forward. Besides, the future development of balanced technology is briefly introduced.
