With the development of shipping industry, ports step to be larger and deeper in water, what requires Further Improvement of pier structures. As one of the important pile structures, Pile Wharf are needed to supply a gap in the traditional design to adapt the development of shipping industry.Static and dynamic loads are applied together on the Pile Wharf, in whose design horizontal loads usually play a critical role. And ship impact loads are unsuspicious one of the most complex horizontal loads. It is very important for the stability and safety of pile structure to study ship impact loads.Ship impact loads were treated as static and the dynamic ability is not taken into account in the traditional design of Pile Wharf. This paper presents a new method, Finite Element Dynamic Simulation, to study the ship impact on Pile Wharf and get the curve of impact loads-time, then compare to the empirical formulas. Secondly, based on the curve, various parameters which influence ship impact of the Pile Wharf are analyzed and obtain the critical factor. As a larger deformation in the soil, an Elastic-plastic model is presented for soil in this paper. Also Penalty function is used in the interaction between ship and rubber cushion. In addition, a fluid-solid coupling method is considered between pile and soil in the simulation. All of this can simulate the strongly nonlinear and large deformation of Ship impact preferably, which provides a feasible way for the ship impact analysis. This paper furtherly present the impact effect under different parameters, such as structure stiffness, ship tonnages, impact velocities, angles of impact, rubber fender and so on. In the last, the analysis of the curve of ship impact load-time is also highly emphasized, and this study can provide the basis for simplifying the formula of the impact force.
