As the development of space technology, more and more aerospace explorations are conducting by people all over the world. Thousands of spacecrafts have been launched into space which are considered as"space targets". It is of great importance to trace and identify them. There are many objects in orbit that are simply too small or too far away to resolve by conventional optical imaging, so it becomes impossible to identify a space object using conventional optical image, but we can identify a space object by the means of hyperspectral analysis of space objects with little knowing other information about it. Hyperspectral analysis involves viewing an object in narrow bandwidths of the electromagnetic spectrum, obtaining a spectral curve of the object. Different objects have distinct spectral curves, we can make use of the differences between the spectral curves to identify objects, on the other hand, we can reap insights into the compose of the object by its spectral curve. For these reasons, hyperspectral analysis of space objects is being considered as a means of enhancing Space Object Identification (SOI) capability. This study focus on the following parts:1. Introduce some of the physical basics of hyperspectral technology and its development.2. The optical reflection models are studied, their pros and cons are introduced.3. Many kinds of the materials used in space technology are introduced and we obtain the hyperspectral data of some of these materials. The target is mathematically modeled and its hyperspectral data in visible light is simulated.
