As one of the most important components of dam safety monitoring, especially in pumped-storage power station, Seepage monitoring plays a key role. Distributed optic fiber temperature sensing system is a newly technology in seepage monitoring. It has advantages in accuracy, installation as well as environment adaptation. With the development in technology and cost reduction, it has been widely used in recent years.This paper introduces the theory of distributed optic fiber temperature sensing system and investigate the relation between△T(Temperature drop)&V(velocity), cable heating program , data storage ,communication and information publishing.Experiments on optical fiber were set up to search the relation between△T&Q(flow). Both seepage condition and no-seepage condition were set to get the temperature drop cause by seepage. During the experiment, SCU681 intelligent heating system, developed by the department of hydraulic of Tsinghua University, was used to heat the optical fiber. A numerical model was used to analyze the relation between flow and velocity in the non-uniform flow field. Base on these achievements referred above, the relation between ?T&V was presented. It is found that this relation relies on the heating condition and the temperature of water. However, the relation betweenδ(the ratio of the temperature drop by seepage and the temperature increase by heating)&V has nothing to do with these factors.20th Kelvin algorithm was used to storage the monitoring value of optical fiber temperature. In this way, the temperatures were stored in the form of String and all of the monitoring value acquired in one time can be storage by a single String.Signal conversion mechanism as RS232 electric signal-optical signal-RJ45 electric signal was used to connect the computer and SCU681 intelligent heating system. It is of stable and effective.Most of the technologies mentioned in this paper have been applied in XiLongChi pumped-storage power station, and they were running well.
