With the development of power electronic technology, control technology and digit computer, a new type drive system named Switched Reluctance Drive system come arise in last 80 years. It has the advantage of the variable frequency speed regulation of asynchronous motor and the DC motor system. SRD system has brought to the forefront all over the world and has been used in lots of field.While the products'quality and safety are paid more attention by people and in demand of some special fields, it's necessary to do study and analysis on the reliability for the SRD system. But there is almost no study on the reliability of the SRD system. So, this thesis gave a reliability design and analysis on SRD system, and the main works done are shown as follow:For the SRM body, an eletromabnetic performance optimization using the finite element software before the reliability designing and analysis has been done and a reliability model derived in term of fatigue stress-life mode with three parameters weibull model to calculate the reliability of SRM's bearing was established. Finally the eccentric rotor of SRM and the influence on the radial force for different connection type of the motor's winding is the focus.For the power converter, the asymmetrical half-bridge is the selective circuit after giving a comparation of some common topologies and the reliability model was built as well. then using the method of reliability apportionment to design the electronic devices used in the converter, then give a reliability prediction of the circuit.For the controller, the performance design and its experimental verification, an analysis on the different control strategies'influence on its reliability and using the the method of counting the elements to do the reliability prediction are given.Finally, considering the converter's reliability is the weakness, a double channel fault-tolerant mode was designed to inporve the system reliability.
