In view of the abuse of infusion therapy and the frequent occurrence of infusionaccidents, the study explored and researched the availability of infusion monitor from theperspective of industrial design, combined with the user centered design, the systems analysis, the product design principles and methods and so on. The purpose was to develop anequipment which could monitor the life safety of the common infusion populations. The main contents of this paper had been divided into five parts. The first part was thebackground analysis of the subject. The domestic and foreign infusion status were introduced, while the causes of the frequent infusion accidents were analyzed, and based on these reasonsthe design ideas for the infusion monitor were put forward. The second part was user researchand market research. This paper made a quantitative analysis of86infusion accident cases, and verified the necessity and feasibility of the transfusion monitoring apparatus fully.Through the analysis of user needs and competitors, the user groups and use r requirementswere determined further, and then the user knowledge was turned into the product function byusing the method of system analysis. This part provided the theoretical basis of user researchfor determining the equipment function modules. The third part was mainly the technicalanalysis of the realization of product function. Based on how to realize the product function, the principles and technology of the drop stopping alarm, the remaining time calculation andthe vital signs monitoring had been analyzed, and the suitable principles and methods of thissubject were determined according to the need of research. Finally, based on the theory ofsystems analysis, each function module was integration designed, and the system design wasmade. This part was the technical support of the study. The fourth part was the design ofdigital prototype. First, it was to determine the core components of each module, and list thedesign concepts by using brainstorming, and then compare the advantages and disadvantagesaccording to the binding of the parts, make the deepen design for the most reasonable schemefinally. It was to reflect the three elements of product design through the3D modeling andrendering. This part provided the constraints for the physical prototype. The fifth part was tomake the physical prototype and evaluate the performance. According to the test results, the feasible and infeasible points of the research results were summed up, and it was put forwardthe conception of the product software. The innovation of this paper was exploring medical problems by using the principles andthe methods of design and giving a practical solution.
