The design of the marine concrete structures durability and the study of service lifeare of great significance. Chloride diffusion coefficient is a key parameter of the durabilityof marine concrete structures design and life prediction under chloride environment. Theexisting literatures have made a systemic study about the effect of water/cement ratio,constitute and properties of materials, external environment and other factors on chloridediffusion coefficient. Practical engineering also pay attention to these factors. However, asan important factor that affects the durability of marine concrete structures, the curing ofconcrete has not received due attention in practical engineering and the current study onconcrete curing can’t reflects the real situation of construction site. To embody theinfluences of curing on durability of marine concrete structures, this paper emphasized onthe chloride diffusion coefficient of concrete with different admixtures using naturalcuring and standard curing. The paper also conducts a systematical study of curing impacton the durability of marine concrete structures.Firstly concrete curing and durability of concrete under chloride environment isbriefly discussed. According to the service-life estimating model based on chloridediffusion, the impact of chloride diffusion coefficient on marine concrete structuresdurability and factors that influence the chloride diffusion coefficient are discussed andstudied. After concrete placement completed, curing is the main factor that effect thechloride diffusion coefficient, so study the influence of curing on marine concretestructures durability is of great significance.The paper contrasts the relation of chloride diffusion coefficient of concrete specimenwith different admixture between under the standard curing condition and under the curingthat simulation practical engineering. Testing chloride diffusion coefficient used RCMmethod and NEL method. Based on the measurement, the variation rules of chloridediffusion coefficient under different curing ways are discussed, and the chloride diffusioncoefficient of concrete with different admixtures under different curing methods are analyzed.Analysis indicates that there lies in an exponential relationship between chloridediffusion coefficient under different curing methods. Based on the empirical formulas,chloride diffusion coefficient of concrete under standard curing condition can reflect thevalues of practical concrete structures. More reasonable parameters can be used whiledurability design and life prediction of marine concrete structures to make the lifeprediction results more accurate.
