The direct-drive permanent magnet motor has been widely used in equipments withhigh accuary for its good output and transmission characteristic. However, the existenceof the cogging torque limite the improvement of its performance. When the motor isrunning, it’s the cause of noise and vibration, will affect the precision of the positioncontrol system. So the method of decreasing the cogging torque has become a hot spot inthe permanent magnet direct-drive motor.Based on the study of similar foreign permanent magnet direct-drive motors, thispaper analyze the factors that affect the cogging torque through establish themathematical model of air gap magnetic field. With the help of Ansoft software, useKMB-T160as an example, research their influence on cogging torque, such as thepole and slot combination, pole arc-coefficient and width of rebate.Then make a researchon a magnetic circuit called Halbach and use it in KMB-T160. Analyze its influence oncogging torque and compare it with ordinary construction. By doing the prototype test ofKMB-T160, prove the rationality of the method studied in this paper, giving thetheoretical and pratic basis for subsequent permanent magnet direct.drive motor design.
