Urban expressway is an effective way to solve the high speed group of the traffic needs. But the exit and entrance of the urban expressway is the key point to result in the traffic jam which is a connection between the urban express way and other way. This study will use the microscopic traffic simulation method to solve the traffic jam caused by the exit and entrances. Traffic simulation is an effective method to analysis the traffic situation. Nowadays much traffic simulation software in common usage in our country is developed by foreign country. The parameters of this software are usually not meet the characteristics of traffic flow.So this paper will develop an accurate and efficient swarm intelligence optimization algorithm to calibrate the original parameter, and then built the simulation model to solve the traffic jam problem.Firstly, artificial bee colony(ABC) algorithm is a swarm intelligence optimization algorithm based on the particular intelligent behavior of honey bee swarms. Considering the shortcomings of premature convergence and rough convergence precision, a novel parallel evolution with multi-populations artificial bee colony algorithm based on dual evolution structure(PMABC) which is used dual evolution structure and the idea of parallel evolution with multi-populations is proposed. The employed bee group is divided into a number of different sub-groups using different optimization strategies which evolve in parallel. It can balance the global exploration and local exploitation ability, so as to improve population diversity and avoid prematurity. In the dual evolution structure, employed bee groups are population space which evolve independently and in parallel, and on-look bee group is belief space which continually evolves the current best solution contributed by population space. The evolved solution is then used to guide the evolutionary search to accelerate the convergence rapidity and improve convergence precision. The simulation result of six benchmark functions show that the PMABC algorithm can effectively avoid prematurity, accelerate the convergence rapidity and improve convergence precision.Secondly, determine the parameter needed amend and the evaluation index aiming at the exit and entrance according to the VISSIM software features. This study selects a typical exit and entrance in Beijing, the Guang Hua Bridge exit and entrance as the research object, and use VISSIM to build a simulation model, and using VBA language develop an autocalibration application.Finally, the calibration result proves that the PMABC and the auto-calibration application is effective, and the accuracy of the simulation software is improved, and PMABC algorithm make the calibration more efficient and accurate. This auto-calibration application can be used to many types of microscopic traffic simulation by VISSIM, so this application has important significance to the traffic simulation to our country.
