With the wide application of dry type air core shunt reactor in power system, the fault of turn to turn insulation is becoming more and more obvious. Because the number of branches of the dry type air core shunt reactor is very much, the manufacturing error is difficult to control. The error can change the inner circulation distribution of the dry type air core reactor, which causes the local temperature difference of the dry type air core reactor. Therefore, it is necessary to study the relationship between the manufacturing error and the distribution of the branch loss and the local temperature, which provides reference for the further control of the production process of the dry type air core shunt reactor.In this paper, we first establish the equivalent circuit model of the reactor and using analytic method to get the theory of self inductance and mutual inductance and resistance calculation formula; in based on the theory of parallel reactor magnetic field distribution of the branch resistance loss, eddy current loss and total loss calculation method. Then, four typical error types are discussed from the related parameters of the calculation formula and the actual production process and operation conditions.According to the calculation formula of branch loss of reactor, this paper prepared the loss calculation program, the four common types of reactor process error of each branch loss value. The results of calculation show that the process of different types of offset caused by differences in the relative variations of the loss of each branch, center distance deviation caused by the branch loss variation can be ignored; packet letter spacing and radius deviation caused by the loss of a small amount of; turns deviation caused by the loss of variable volume significantly.In the production process of the reactor should strictly enforce the number of turns of error control, at the same time in the factory test of adding branch loss and temperature distribution measurement.
