In recent years, due to the rollover collision accident caused by the unqualified bus in the country occurred frequently, a serious threat to the safety of students, caused great negative impact, has aroused strong concern of the whole society. Therefore, we must deepen research on safety of bus rollover, in order to improve the safety performance of vehicle rollover, protect the safety of students.Based on the actual production, the FAW bus (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. a school bus as the object, in the school bus rollover collision on the basic theory of finite element simulation, basic mechanical model and the governing equation is established; according to the drawings, the establishment of a school bus three-dimensional model; finite element model of the vehicle frame is established by using commercial software HyperWorks. using LS-DYNA solver. According to the simulation results, the deformation of skeleton structure, ceiling can characteristics, collision force and collision acceleration analysis, find the bus skeleton structure strength weak place, determine the site penetrated occupant living space; accordance with the relevant laws and regulations of the school bus rollover test, the establishment of rollover test bench, for school bus rollover crash tests, at the end of the real vehicle rollover test, after entering the stationary vehicle body interior, the first measurement of the living space is being violated, and confirm a component in the living space of whether prominent deformation until the bus skeleton structure, and then the collected body deformation data and analysis. Study found that after the test process and test, the minimum clearance between the column and the living space for 16 mm; any part of the body outside the living space displacement did not invade living space, living space in any part of the are not prominent to the deformation of body structure outside. Real vehicle test and simulation test results has been found to be in error, but both error is less than 10%, and both of the data have a high consistency and two experiments show that comply with the requirements of the school bus safety of structure strength.Study on the school bus rollover safety simulation simulation techniques and processes, on the bus the upper structure of the security properties of have certain reference value and practical significance.
