A diesel-LPG dual fuel engine reformed from 2100 diesel engine was investigated in this dissertation. The main works are summarized as follows: I .The history and status quo of ICE alternative fuel were dissertated. And the development and research hotspots on engine fueled by natural gas (NG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) both internal and external were also discussed; 2.The calculating methods of internal combustion engine working process were dissertated. And according to developing order, the combustion models were discussed; 3.Test of the dieselPG dual fuel engine was earned out. According to gathering test data and analyzing its result, the dual fuel engine抯 performance aft~cted by changing the pilot diesel quantity was discussed in detail, getting the performance peculiarities about dual fuel engine operation; 4.Lndicator diagrams measured by a CB366 combustion analyzer were used to calculate and analyze heat-release law with three methods as R method, single-area method and dual-area method. Combustion characteristics and the separated heat-release law of the dieselPG dual fuel engine were got; 5.A calculating program for dual-fuel engine working process was designed to verify the reliability of R-W method, single-area method and dual-area method.
