Based on the finite element method, a new algorithm for evaluatingthe sensitivity of electric field intensity to geometric parameters of theelectrode system is presented in this dissertation. By means of thisalgorithm, the sensitivity can be evaluated as like the nodal potentialsolution. Adopting Hermite polynomial in stead of Taylor expansionhas greatly decreased the order of the high-order cross sensitivity.Application of above methods to the automatic design of the electricfield or the insulation structure shows that they are very effective.
