In this thesis, some problems concerning Active Structural Control in Lattice-Shell Structures are discussed thoroughly.Based on the analysis of characteristics of Lattice-Shell structures, the model of a new type of actuator for active control in Lattice-Shell structures which is composed of the tube of lattice shell structure and piezoelectric ceramic material is proposed. The method of computing output control force of the actuator is deduced and factors affecting control force are analyzed.Since the placement of actuators has great influence upon the effect of structural control, research about optimal placement of actuators is taken. The method for measuring the controllability of actuators?placement is proposed. Due to the difficulties in dealing this optimization issue with traditional optimization algorithm, Genetic Algorithm (GA) technique is used to dispose of the problem.A simulation analysis of a double-layer cylinder Lattice-Shell structure is demonstrated. The result of simulation proves the feasibility of reducing vibration in Lattice-Shell structures by active control method, and also attests that new actuator can be used and the method to optimize the placement of actuators is valid.
