Research On Computer Load Shedding Technology

This paper analyses the under frequency load shedding(UFLS)device in present electric power system.It points out that although the UFLS device today have been computerized in hardware,it is the same as traditional device in design idea and setting principle .On the basis of analysis on the dynamic frequency after power vacancy,the reason of unideal function of traditional device are dissected: it is set by using assumed load and power vacancy.The changed range of real load power and real power vacancy lead to big error. It is pointed out that making fully use of the realtime and swift computation function of computer and forecasting the stability status quickly by online calculation,we can make qualitative movement of UFLS ,Method of load shedding by rapidly forecasting power vacancy and numerical simulation analysis on 5-point model system and JaYuguan system are presented.Comparing with traditional load shedding ,the new method has distinct improvement in the effect of load shedding.
