It is a scheme with good potential for saving energy to use HFC mixture as a substitute for HCFC. An absence of the thermophysical property data is the main obstacle to the study of alternative refrigerants. So, it is necessary to develop accurate and widely-used computational models serving to describe the thermophysical behavior of HFC mixtures. The equations of state in terms of dimensionless Helmholtz free energy were adopted and the vapor-phase and vapor-liquid- equilibrium (VLE) thermodynamic properties have been calculated systematically for the mixtures of R410 and R407C. A comprehensive comparison with experimental results and other available data is also discussed, and the accuracy of the computational models developed in this present work has been validated. In addition, thermal conductivity and viscosity of R4 10 and R407C have also been calculated. Based on the study of the thermophysical properties of HFC mixture, a simulation calculation has been carried out for the air conditioner refrigeration system using R41OA and R407C. The reliability of the simulation model for the refrigeration system using mixture refrigerants has been verified by the comparison of calculation with experimental measurement. By making use of the simulation results, the refrigeration performances of R134a, R41OA and R407C have been compared and with the emphasis on the feasibility analysis of the alternative technology using R41OA and R407C. Eventually, an optimization calculation has been made for a rolling piston type compressor using R4 I OA as working fluid. The purpose of saving energy and improving the system performance can be achieved. Lubrication oil and leakage are the necessary parts in the study of alternative technology. The present research work regarding the lubrication oil for HFC refrigerants has been summarized. The impact of R407C leakage on the performance of air conditioner refrigeration system has been analyzed.
