The on-line measuring instrument for measuring the basic parameters of optical multifilament adopts two dimensions laser scanning technology to measure the size on two vertical directions, and obtains the diameters of inscribed and circumscribed circle of optical multifilament by theoretical calculation. The problem caused by internal off-line measuring, the lower product uniformity of the optical multifilament, is solved. Moreover, a new and feasible means is provided, and a new thinking is exploited for measuring the diameters of inscribed and circumscribed circle of hexagonal prism. Optical and electronic sensor technology, electronic technology, fine mechanic technology, laser technology and computer technology are synthetically applied in this instrument. The real-time data obtained are transmitted to the control computer through ISA bus, and then the computer can analyze and process the data to obtain the proper values of the diameters. At the same time, the computer can calculate the percent of pass and the rejection ration, and display the quality fluctuation gram, the quality control figure, histogram.
