The methods of the static voltage contingency ranking ?the direct contingency ranking method with improved voltage distribution factors algorithm and the hybrid contingency ranking method are researched in this paper. Firstly, the structure and meanings of performance indices in the hybrid method are analyzed. Secondly, the indices formulas by the sensitivity method are deduced. Thirdly, the performance indices, the direct method and hybrid method are compared in the respects of capture ratio and ordering accuracy by the analysis of the IEEE 14-bus system and IEEE 30-bus system.. Finally, a new voltage contingency analysis method is proposed, and the method is proved by the voltage contingency analysis for a real power system.
