This dissertation is sponsored by Chongqing electric company project "analysis of Pengshui power station connecting to system" In this paper, the reliability assessment models and algorithms of power systems based on AC power flow, which is a leading edge subject in power system areas, are studied. The engineering system is analyzed via these models. The main results in detail include the following: (1) To improve the efficiency and the convergence of power flow, the improved Newton-Raphson and the reducing dimension formula of matrix of power flow are applied to the reliability assessment of bulk power system. Computational complexity can be decreased effectively via using the reducing dimension formula of matrix. The improved Newton-Raphson method is the combination of general Newton-Raphson method and simplified Newton-Raphson method, and rate of computing can be improved by using the improved method. Computation time can be reduced signally through applying the reducing dimension formula of matrix to the improved Newton-Raphson method. (2) Computational software based on studies described above is used to analyze synthetically the Pengshui power station connecting to system. Some improved schemes are proposed by using the reliability indexes of the original scheme, and reliability computation and economic evaluation are implemented to the new schemes, thereby the scheme which has better reliability and economical efficiency can be acquired. (3) Stability verification provide farther reference to finalization of scheme.
