Concrete faceplate moraine dam is the one of the main dam type, it has many merits, such as good security, good adaptability, short project time limit, low cost, using local materials, convenient construction, and so on. It suits the situation of our country and the conditions of water resources and hydroelectric power engineering, it has more strong vitality, hi domestic and international dam circle, it is a kind of dam type which has rich competitiveIn design of concrete faceplate moraine dam, the design of stagnant water for peripheral joint is very important. To distortion, peripheral joint is the best hypersensitive part in the concrete faceplate moraine dam. Whether it is scientific and reasonable design plays the crucial role to what whether the dam is able to prevent leakage effectively. On the base of the domestic and international design of stagnant water and practice experience of sealing material for peripheral joint, this paper analyse and study working principle and adapting situation of all kinds of sealing structure and sealing material. The analysis and study use the experiment result of the concerned peripheral joint model, according to the examples of design about concrete faceplate moraine dam of domestic and international typical project that being built and have been built. This paper offer some basis and suggestion to scientific design and careful construction of structural shape and sealing material of peripheral joint by design of project example.
