CangZhou is a chemical engineering city. Calcium carbide dust is a sort of indutrial solid wastes discharged from chemical industry. Calcium carbide dust pollutes environment seriously and in addition,the question of storage restricted the development of the corporation.To settle the question about calcium carbide dust is imperative under the situations.The text expatiated the application of calcium carbide ash in highway building.The article includes five aspects:1. Application of lime soil.2. Application of lime-flyash mixture.3. Lime-flyash stabilization with grading gravel.4. Application of calcium carbide dust.5. Proposal about road way structure of CangZhou.By studing and analyzing,we can discover that calcium carbide dust and lime have the same primary component-Ca(OH)2.If we can use calcium carbide dust instead of lime as the base material in road construction,not only solve the question of environment pollution,but also bright great vital force to the chemical industry of CangZhou.At the same time,it can reduce engineering cost.Therefore,using calcium carbide dust have both economical benefit and social benefit.We analyse a mass of data of experiments and conclude that calcium carbide dust can be used in place of lime completely. We can use both calcium carbide dust and calcium carbide dust-flyash to stabilize fine-soil.As well as being used in subbase of high grade road, calcium carbide dust stabilization and calcium carbide dust-flyash stabilization can be used in basecourse of low grade road.So we can deduce that calcium carbide dust-flyash-gravel stabilization can be used in basecourse of high grade road.About mixture rate of calcium carbide dust stabilization and calcium carbide dust s mixing dose,controlling methodand construct technics,we conduct large number of indoor tests and outdoor tests and educe scientific datas and methods.According to economical condition and climate condition of CangZhou,it is necessary to mention the combination and thickness of road construction that can accord the requestion of criterion,be economical and viable.Author carried through different structure combination and choosed different thickness of structure layer basing on different road grade.In this text,author elected a secondary road to checking computations.In conclusion.it is viable and significant to use calcium carbide dust instead of lime.
